Difference Between Monel and Inconel 625
Monel
Monel is a group of nickel alloys, primarily composed of nickel (up to 67%) and copper, with small amounts of iron, manganese, carbon, and silicon. Stronger than pure nickel, Monel alloys are resistant to corrosion by many agents, including rapidly flowing seawater. They can be fabricated readily by hot- and cold-working, machining, and welding.

Inconel 625 also known as Incoloy 625. Its an alloy essentially consisting of nickel, chromium and molybdenum with exceptional resistance to pitting and corrosion cracking. The alloy 625 has extraordinary mechanical properties at immensely low ans high temperatures. The alloy 625 has high rupture and tensile strength with eminent weldability and brazeability. The alloy 625 has excellent corrosion resistance to inorganic acids such as sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, phosphoric acid and nitric acid. The immense level of nickel in the alloy empowers it to defy severe corrosive environments such as neutral salts, alkaline media and sea waters.
